The Battle of Britain Flight visited Bristol Airport on the weekend of the Yeovilton Air Day.
The captain of the Lancaster kindly allowed Rotorflight to take photographs of the the R44 Raven II with all three aircraft. Here are some of them…

KUWAIT POLICE TRAINING

Rotorflight and the Kuwait Police Students
Rotorflight are currently involved with training 10 Kuwait Police student at Tiger Helicopters, Shobdon Aerodrome in Herefordshire.
The course started in August with each student required to acquire approx 180 hours of flying, to include 75 on the R22 , approx 60 on the Bell B206 Jetranger and approx 35 hours on an AS355 Twin Squirrel. Paul Chapman of Rotorflight is currently working at Tiger with three other instructors, Keith Bebbington, Gareth Abbott and Alan Austin. Each instructor is responsible for at least two Kuwait students each, taking them from their first solo, all the way through to the end of the course.
All the students recently went solo, all on the same day! The photographs below (although not showing all 10 students) were taken after all solos were completed.

PARAMEDIC TRAINING

Rotorflight were also involved in July with the new Air Ambulance unit to be based at Filton Airfield. They will co-exist with the existing Police unit already based there. Rotorflight were asked to provide helicopter ground training on Principles of Flight (H) and provide the 9 qualified Paramedics with navigation appreciation using 250,000 and 50,000 OS maps. Additionally principles like Vortex ring, PFL's and Flapback were demonstrated. Paul was also invited to take part in the loading and unloading of simulated stretcher cases in the August 109 Power with a final quick flight at the controls of the 109. It is hoped that other Ambulance units around the country will adopt the same training course.
